Student Services


Q. Do you supply books and tools to use while in school?
A. All tools necessary for training are supplied. It is recommended that the student purchase a dial caliper tool at approximately $75.00. This caliper is used throughout the program and will be used when the student graduates and obtains employment in the occupational field.

Q. Is there tutoring available?
A. Yes, upon request and at the availability of an instructor.

Q. Do you offer job placement assistance?
A. Yes, both for local employment while attending SAM and upon graduation, however, SAM cannot guarantee employment to its graduates.

Q. After I complete the program, will you help me find a job?
A. Yes. Our Employment Services Department staff will take you through some basic job search training, help you market yourself to employers, develop a resume for you, provide you with leads from employers we know are hiring, and continue to work with you after graduation until you become employed in your field of training.

Q. How and when do I apply for Financial Aid?
A. Upon acceptance to SAM, you will receive a copy of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and information for applying on-line. You are required to complete this process upon receipt of these documents to ensure that our Financial Aid Department can process your paperwork and advise you of what you qualify for prior to your start.

Q. Does SAM provide help in locating housing?
A. Yes, SAM refers students to a local apartment complex that is one mile from the school. Most students live in this complex. To receive more information about housing please contact us. Dorms are not provided.

A. SAM has 9 starts per year.

Q. When can I enroll?
A. Anytime.

Q. Do I need a high school diploma to attend?
A. Yes, or a GED.

Q. Am I eligable for financial aid?
A. Financial aid in the form of Federal student loans and grants is available to those who qualify and are eligible.

A. Yes, SAM is licensed by Texas Workforce Commission, Career Schools and Colleges.

Q. What agencies and organizations recognize your school?
A. SAM is recognized and accepts students from third-party sponsors and rehabilitation agencies. SAM is also approved for Veteran training.

A. Yes.
