Injectors/Calibration
They’d met the bogey, but the team wasn’t satisfied. Though there had been no indications
of a lean condition–amazing, considering the Camaro was using the stock engine management, mass–air meter,
injectors, fuel pump, and fuel lines–the team considered a minor fuel system upgrade. But rather then trash
it all for a full–on race outfit, the students simply swapped the ’99 26–lb/hr injectors for ’98 28–lb/hr
units, and then had the computer recalibrated accordingly by Steve Cole’s TTS. The change dropped the e.t.’s
once more to 10.85 at 124.90 mph.
