Grassroots racing is the foundation of our hobby. Tom Stabb’s ’99 Camaro SS lets us stay in touch with the thousands of weekend warriors that rely on dual-purpose street/strip motors. To meet those needs, we designed a 421ci LS1 based on an iron block for added durability, and topped off the motor with a set of LS-6 heads. A Beck sheetmetal intake manifold completes the induction system, and BigStuff3 standalone EFI manages the fuel and spark delivery. Tom’s Camaro has run a best of 9.81 at 138 mph and with some more fine-tuning; he’s looking to run deeper in the mid-9s at over 140 mph.
